The Story
Hello! and Welcome to the “Christmas in Georgia” website. First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our site. The sole purpose of this site is to give you information about what “Christmas in Georgia” is, introduce you to the Biggar family and tell you about their family band called Serving6. We hope that you will take the time to “hear for yourself” some of this band’s musical talents by listening to the audio clips. Also, please listen to the testimonials of people that have experienced “Christmas in Georgia” firsthand.
The concert started out as a small get together of about 30 people. Curt and Cindy Biggar were asked to give a musical performance for a Christmas dinner at their church. The next year it was repeated, and this time the Biggar’s three young children, Calie, Christopher and Joshua were included in the performance. The concert which now was called “Christmas in Georgia “, after the title of a song written by Curt and Cindy, continued, and the following year their fourth child, Jeremy, was born which made his debut as “baby Jesus”.
By the fourth year, the attendance of the concert had, by word of mouth only, increased to over 150 people. Not only had the attendance grown, but so had the concert itself.
What began as a small selection of songs had turned into a full production of music, drama and lights. The whole family not only entertained , but especially ministered through song, drama and testimony. At this point, the concert had outgrown its original location, so the Biggar family rented (out of their own pocket) a larger facility.
By the eighth annual “Christmas in Georgia” concert, the attendance had grown to over 500 people. People of all ages, races, backgrounds and denominations attended to hear and be touched by this inspiring family. People that would never attend a church service would go the concert year after year to hear and see the message of Christ.
It is to be noted here, that not once did the family ever charge a fee for the concert, although there were a great many expenses. They did accept any donations that people would offer, but never asked for them. The purpose of their concert was a gift of love to show the true meaning of Christmas to anyone who would attend.
The Biggar’s have continued year after year to minister, but now take their concerts, which are not limited to only Christmas, to other locations. The “Christmas in Georgia” concert has touched the lives of many. People have said it “changed their lives” and that it “made their Christmas” year after year.
